Emergency & Safety Guide

UPDATING EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION

Emergency information is kept on file in the school office. This includes address, home and work telephone number, and names and phone numbers of persons to be called should we be unable to reach a parent or guardian in the event of an emergency. all changes of address or telephone numbers should be reported to the school immediately.

BICYCLE RIDERS

If your child rides a bike to school, we recommend a strong lock as a precaution against theft. Students may park their bicycles only in the designated area. Bicycles are to be walked, not ridden, on school grounds. Bicycle riders are required by law to wear helmets.

Parents and Guardians Have a Key Role in Emergency Response

During and following an emergency situation, school and district officials must act quickly and follow established emergency protocols to safeguard students and staff, secure schools, and communicate accurate information in a timely manner. Parents can assist greatly by helping with preparation before the emergency.

Alternate Evacuation Location

In the event of a school evacuation, Woodward Elementary School will utilize DeLand High School as the alternative site.  Information would be communicated to all families regarding next steps.
